REBHOLZ REPORT! - New School!

The public and even some of my Competitors have already engaged with the REBHOLZ REPORT! Exactly what I had hoped would happen! I value your opinion even more and would love to hear your thoughts on the REBHOLZ REPORT and the topics I cover!

This edition of the "REBHOLZ REPORT" discusses more on my focus on education as we look into the new school initiative for Beaufort County!

Here's the scoop:

The Beaufort County Board of Commissioners has given the green light, with a 5-2 vote, to match funds with a state grant. This means the Commissioners vote allows the School District to apply for an Education Lottery grant. So now we're on track to merge John Cotten Tayloe and Eastern Elementary Schools into a single, modern facility right behind the current Eastern Elementary site.

Why is this such a big deal? Well, for starters, both schools have been around since the 60s and are showing their age with issues like old plumbing, electrical problems, and the need for constant repairs. Plus, the design of Eastern Elementary means kids have to head outside just to get to another class - not ideal, especially with our unpredictable weather!

But it's not just about fixing up old buildings. This new school is going to be a game-changer for our little ones. Imagine a place where they won't have to switch campuses frequently, where the learning environment is safer and more secure, and where the design is up-to-date with the latest in educational spaces. We're talking about a school that not only looks good on the outside but is built to foster a better learning experience on the inside.

And let's not forget the economic side of things. By consolidating the schools, we're looking at saving around $700,000 in recurring costs. Plus, with most of the funding coming from the state, it's an opportunity we just can't pass up. It's not just about the here and now; it's about setting up Beaufort County for a brighter, more prosperous future.

We all know how important first impressions are, especially when it comes to our schools. They're not just places for learning; they're a reflection of our community's values and aspirations. With this new school, we're sending a clear message that Beaufort County is forward-thinking and committed to providing the best for its residents.

So, let's get ready to welcome this new addition to our community with open arms. It's a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for the greater good. Here's to new beginnings and to a stronger, smarter Beaufort County!

Stay tuned for more updates in the next REBHOLZ REPORT!
